Henan Zhonghai EP NSF Certification | $1.4M Southeast Asia Smart Water Order 2026
Henan Zhonghai Environmental Protection becomes the first Henan-based water equipment firm to earn NSF P535 & P558 certifications, securing a $1.4M Indonesia order amid industry growth.
Against the backdrop of China’s Water Purification Philosophy (885961) index climbing 1.15% on January 14, 2026, signaling robust industry growth, Henan Zhonghai Environmental Protection Equipment Co., Ltd. (Zhonghai EP) announced two major milestones on January 18: becoming the first water equipment enterprise in Henan Province to obtain NSF’s P535 and P558 dual certifications, and securing a $1.4 million order for smart water purification systems from an Indonesian food and beverage group.
The dual certifications mark Zhonghai EP’s technical compliance with global standards. The NSF P535 certification validates the safety of the company’s water treatment components, with lead leaching levels as low as 0.003mg/L—far below the 0.01mg/L limit set by China’s new national standard GB/T 30307-2025. Meanwhile, the NSF P558 sensory certification confirms that the terminal water meets international standards for taste and odor, fill the gap the gap in sensory performance verification for Henan-made water equipment .
“The certifications required 12 months of rigorous testing, including 500+ hours of continuous operation and 30 rounds of sensory blind tests,” said a Zhonghai EP R&D director. “We upgraded the RO membrane module with anti-fouling technology inspired by our new shell-and-tube heat exchanger patent, extending service life by 40% while improving taste.”
Leveraging this certification advantage, the Indonesian order will supply 200 sets of solar-powered smart RO systems to 15 food processing plants. The equipment integrates IoT monitoring to track TDS and pressure in real time, with wastewater ratios optimized to 1:1.1—exceeding Southeast Asia’s typical 1:2 standard. Localized after-sales support will be provided through Zhonghai EP’s Jakarta service station, ensuring 48-hour on-site response .
Industry analysts note that with NSF updating standards to address emerging contaminants like PFAS, certifications have become a key barrier to global market entry. Zhonghai EP’s dual certifications and overseas order reflect the shift of Henan’s environmental equipment sector from “manufacturing” to “high-tech export” . The company targets 30% of 2026 revenue from overseas markets, focusing on Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
